This report just floated across my Twitter timeline and I expected Tesla’s attempt to open a factory in Germany to be a shit show… and here I stand, very much correct.
Not only are they having trouble hiring people, they’re having trouble keeping them, they pay 20% less than comparable companies (and if you’re in Germany… auto companies are a dime a dozen), they lied about having to work early and late shifts, there is no cooperation with Unions (oh hey, remember Wal-Mart?) AND they had a fire in the factory in September for which they had to call the Berlin fire brigade… only to stumble upon the revelation that fire alarms were improperly installed.
